According to Mary-Jo Foley’s blog, Silverlight 3 will be launched on July 10.

Silverlight will be adding 3D support, GPU acceleration, H.264 video support and out-of-the-browser capabilities. Especially the out-of-browser capabilities will make Silverlight a good competitor for Adobe Air.
